I now accept credit/debit card payments.
I'm a first generation potter who loves what I do. I've never considered myself to be a craft or arts person. To try something different I signed up for a class taught by John Saunders at CCC&TI in Lenoir, NC during the spring of 2005 and immediately got hooked. No one was more surprised than me. The rest is history.
I'm a North Carolina native, retired Navy, and currently a high school teacher. I grew up in Rowan county but now live in Lenoir, NC (Catawba Valley). The view here in the foothills never ceases to amaze me, especially in the fall. The history of outstanding potters in this area inspires me to keep trying to improve. As I watch some of the local potters at work I hope to learn something new I can apply to my own pottery making.
I make many different items including those with functional use, some face jugs and other items that are simply decorative. I'm open to any new ideas and when I see something new I'll try to make it. I enjoy making both large pieces and minatures.
My wife Wanda is a cancer survivor and the love of my life. She does all the hand painting on the pots I make. There are several pieces of her work in the "Some of our work" link and you can see how talented she is. Sometimes she uses acrylic paints and other times she uses underglazes. I simply make the pot and give it to her and she turns it into an artistic masterpiece. She does a great job! Email Wanda with your questions or comments.
Take a look at the "Some of our work" pages. This is just a sampling and some of the pieces you see are already sold. If you are interested in anything you see on this site or have an idea you'd like me to try, email me and let me know what you're looking for. I'll get back to you and if I have anything close I can send pictures to help you decide. I'll ship to anywhere in the U.S. Thanks for taking a look.
